Laparoscopic appendectomy is a minimally invasive modality that aims at the surgical removal of the appendix. As the name suggests, the procedure is carried out via multiple tiny incisions and comes with a lot of benefits. The appendix is a tiny pouch that is connected to the colon and does not have any specified function. The appendix can get infected due to a variety of different reasons, leading to inflammation and swelling. This is commonly referred to as appendicitis.
Indications

Procedure
- The surgical procedure is carried out under the influence of general anaesthesia.
- This is followed by making tiny incisions on the patient's abdomen.

- The laparoscope, which is a long narrow tube with the camera fitted on one of its ends, is inserted via one of the incisions for detailed imaging guidance.
- The appendix is carefully tied and removed and the season will be closed.
