Different types of Dentures:
- Partial Denture: Partial denture helps to replace several missing teeth in the maxilla and mandible. There are 2 types of partial dentures and fixed partial dentures and removable partial dentures. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.
- Complete Denture: Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing in the jaw. These can be either conventional or immediate. Immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed whereas conventional dentures are made after the gum tissues are healed completely, generally 12 weeks after extraction.
- Cast Partial Denture: A cast partial denture is a kind of partial denture that combines a cast metal framework with acrylic resin prosthetic teeth.
