A head-up tilt table test is a diagnostic modality used for determining the underlying cause of a fainting spell. Throughout the procedure you will be required to lie down on a rotating table that will be tilted at various angles, ranging from 30 degrees to 60 degrees. Your blood pressure will be simultaneously monitored, along with the electrical impulses generated by the heart and oxygen levels. Raj's Anchal is carried out in the Electrophysiology Lab, or EP lab.
The complete procedure may take about 2 hours or less depending upon how your vitals change. Medication and fluids will be given intravenously. There is no need for anaesthetics and sedatives.
You will be connected to 4 different monitors - defibrillator, electrocardiogram, oximeter monitor and blood pressure monitor.
