Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring is a diagnostic modality that aims at detecting and assessing high blood pressure or hypertension by continuously monitoring your blood pressure for 24 consecutive hours. This is done with the help of a portable blood pressure machine which can be worn as a belt.
Indications
Major indications of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring are:
- Monitoring of a pregnant patient with hypertension
- Monitoring of borderline hypertension
- Fluctuating blood pressure
- Assess the efficacy of medication for Hypertension
- Refractory hypertension
