3D mapping is a minimally invasive diagnostic modality that works by generating multidimensional images of the heart. The procedure involves the stimulation of heart muscles to detect abnormalities related to heart rhythm, i.e. cardiac arrhythmia. 3D mapping not only helps to diagnose arrhythmia but also detects its source. It can help to figure out which areas of the heart are not beating properly and the tissues that do not receive electrical impulses. This further helps to devise out a proper treatment plan for the patient, which may include cardiac mapping and ablation.
